Are you people all retarded? Intellicast Doppler Radar. Earlier in the week we asked you to tell us which weather web sites you thought were the best. Remember, the top five are based on your most popular nominations from the call for contenders thread from earlier in the week. Those of you who nominated WeatherSpark pointed out that it's one of the sharpest presentations of a huge selection of weather data.

When these pulses of energy encounter an object in the atmosphere, such as a raindrop, hailstone or snowflake, part of the energy pulse bounces off of the object and returns to the receiver. It is now Weather Underground which has an hard to view weather map. Have a suggestion for the Hive Five? Of course, Google's weather forecasts are provided by Weather.

Weatherspark prides itself on its graphs, charts, and other detailed weather data all available in a single view. Intellicast was wonderful and their new site sucks.

Note that what the radar shows us is not necessarily what is reaching the ground. You offered tons of suggestions, many of them local to your regions, others with comprehensive global and international forecasts. Then Intellicast would it done better than Wunderground. How could that get screwed up? Kinja is in read-only mode. Not related to the other Weather Underground save in name only, since both projects have their roots in and the weather database got its start from the weather database at the University of Michigan.

The Hive Five is based on reader nominations. Multiple sweeps are required to build a layered inspection of the atmosphere, called a volume sweep, or volume coverage. Without it, meteorologists would not be able to see what is going on inside a thunderstorm very well, nor would we be able to forecast the movement of a thunderstorm very precisely. The Fucking Weather, as its name implies, tells you what the weather is.

Weather underground stinks, how disappointing. So, why is the Doppler radar important? Weather enthusiasts still blog regularly about local, regional, and global weather and climate related issues, largely powered by its own community of enthusiasts. Current conditions, future predictions, long-term forecasts, historical highs and lows, precipitation chances, radar and satellite maps, and more are all right there, a click away.

They equip one of the most advanced systems for forecasting weather. Why not get your information from the people who get it themselves from weather stations around the globe, satellites in orbit, everyone communicates few connect audio book and other commercial and public resources?

This process is illustrated in the animation. Make no mistake, it's hilarious, but it's also useful, especially if, well, all you want to know is what the fucking weather is, and it's one of our favorite sites that tell you what the fuck to do. We understand it's a bit of a popularity contest. From there you can see more detailed hourly, daily, or weekly forecasts, or just spend some time scrolling around on the map or graphs to see how conditions change, have changed, or will change. How does the Doppler radar work

As with most Hive Five posts, if your favorite was left out, it didn't get the nominations required in the call for contenders post to make the top five. We should also mention, as you guys did, that many of you simply turn to Google for the weather, mostly because it's so easily available. Have something to say about one of the contenders? It pulls data from Weather Underground if you want to dig in and get dirty with specific weather information, and has tons of maps and live-updating charts to look over. The majority of the time it spend capturing energy.

The work with businesses as well as weather enthusiasts. Want to make the case for your personal favorite, even if it wasn't included in the list? In short, behind those graphs and charts is a wealth of information, all delivered in a useful and easy to browse way. The warnings would be less accurate, putting more people and property at risk during hazardous weather. The Weather Underground replacement is an abomination.

The Intellicast app had good wind flow real time mapping and them had marine mapping with local conditions. The radar rotates deg to capture one sweep. Some of you mentioned that part of the reason they're so accurate is because their forecasts are actually a calculated aggregate of other available forecast data. Now that it has been absorbed by Weather Underground, it is almost worthless.
